Specimen description; Shape & Crystallography; Aggregate of tourmaline crystals radiating outward from a central core. Crystals are predominately trigonal prisms with vertical striations. ORIGIN; Sao Jose da Satina region, of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
SPECIMEN SIZE; Medium size cabinet specimen. INCLUSIONS; Only the smallest coating in places of white feldspar matrix seen on the specimen. FRACTURES; Typical and expected, perpendicular internal fractures across the "C" axis of the larger crystals.
Some pink surrounded by green. A pink band separating the top from the bottom of the specimen. AND some blue caps (see picture 2), mostly on the top. Height 1.25 inches Weight 70.86 grams Longest crystal is 21.84mm on the top. PICTURES: All taken indoors under artificial lighting.
