Smoky Capped Scepter Quartz Crystal Cluster Crazy Odd Peoples Pocket

4" x 3" x 3. This is a very nice quartz cluster. It has mainly smoky color, but you see it has two types of quartz, one was from hydrothermal the other from a pegmatite, causing them to bond. Has a scepter to capped formation, a bit of both. This is a wild looking crystal, it all actually formed at the same time, it was two types of quartz so they didnt mix and formed this way. This pocket of crystal are just being released for sale, they are a very special pocket. Its where a pegmatite crossed over with a hydrothermal vein system, leaving a mixture of two quartz types causing them to grow at the same time forming odd layering and odd scepter type growth habits. Several layers of growth looks to have occurred. This was one of the two main large clusters to be found from this pocket. It is from "The Peoples Pocket" in Abbeville County, South Carolina. This is a brand new find, had been following a beryl pegmatite and ran into a hydro-thermal vein producing some quartz with smoky and amethyst.

Very few pieces came out of this pocket. This is the first time in my 10+ years digging to ever run into this rare occasion here in S. Normally these veins systems didn't mix. I take offers on most store items! Check out my other items.
