Gorgeous WULFENITE Crystal Cluster-Top Luster-Ahumada mine, Mexico-Classic
I'm pleased to offer this choice Wulfenite crystal cluster from the Ahumada mine, Villa Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico. The specimen measures 2.65 x 1.74 x. 81 inches or 6.74 x 4.42 x 2.06cm and is in fantastic condition.
His collection was a fascinating mix of ordinary rocks to fabulous specimens---one box might hold a bunch of ordinary rhyolite and the next might hold a purple adamite from Mapimi and a wondrous ludlockite from Tsumeb! The Erupcion-Ahumada mine is world famous for these tremendous wulfenite specimens; certainly, the best of these are among the world's finest wulfenite specimens. I'm picky about locality details and the portion of the mine that produced all the wulfenite specimens was the Ahumada mine portion below the 500 foot level.
Fabulous anglesite crystals were found in the upper levels (in the Erupcion mine portion) and excellent arsenatian vanadinite (endlichite) specimens and endlichite and descloizite encrustations and replacements of wulfenite in the deeper Ahumada portion. This is an excellent, display quality specimen in excellent condition. The luster is fantastic and the crystals faintly show the zoning common to these "chopped carrots" wulfenite crystal specimens. An absolutely gorgeous piece with a price that cannot be matched. I'm reminded of the firm pledge printed on the old Foote Mineral Company mineral catalogs from more than a century ago, Quality of specimens is assured as we permit return of specimens at our expense.
