Large Herkimer Diamond Quartz Cluster 8 Crystals Fine Mineral Specimen

Fine minerals, fossils, and displays. Herkimer "Diamond" Quartz Cluster with 8 Crystals.

From: Ace of Diamonds Mine, Middleville, New York Size: 7.6 x 6.6 x 3.3cm Weight: 128g. A very aesthetic, large, lustrous and clear Herkimer "diamond" quartz cluster with 8 quartz crystals. The black specs are bitumen which is a petroleum inclusion. The bottom-left crystals appear to have a very slight smokiness to them which gives the piece a subtle gradient as the crystals go completely clear at the top-right. Seven of the eight crystals are in excellent condition. The only damage is a ding to the bottom quartz crystal, but it is mostly hidden by the base. Like almost all Herkimer clusters this one has been restored. One of the smaller crystals has been reattached, but all signs indicate that the others have not been restored at all.
