23.0 x 16.5 x 10.0 centimeters. Notes - - Large quartz & pyrite specimens from this region are very uncommon.

Significant finds were made back in the 1980s and 90s, however, not much has been produced since then. Even in the heyday, large pieces were not common. This one is from recent diggings in the last few years. The special thing about this piece is that the pyrite is in good shape and not degraded as is sometimes the case with the larger pieces. Both pyrite crystals have good luster and strong striations lines on the faces.

You may notice a little splay of pyrite on one corner of one of the big ones. This is an unusual feature Ive only seen at this locality, where some fracturing happened during the growth stages, and the pyrite splay was naturally healed back together with the main crystal. As the crystals in the pocket continued to grow, quartz and pyrite crystals intergrew both inside and outwards. The result is a very solid piece frozen in place, and fully crystallized. Milky white to clear quartz crystals of all sizes abound, and form a complex matrix.
